W E L C O M E - We're here to help you and us !

Our City and tax dollars are re-constructing Dawson Road and we are expecting great things! On the surface - new sidewalks, bike lanes, better roadways and even trees. Down below - all kinds of new pipes, electrical connections and stuff that will make things work more efficiently.

The work is scheduled to be done by September 30, 2010. Until then there will be lots of heavy equipment moving around. The City will keep all businesses accessible. Check out this blog regularly for helpful updates on road conditions and how to get into tight areas or call us at 519-767-2161 for up-to-the-minute conditions. Dawson Road businesses need your business, to ensure we're still here to celebrate the benefits of this reconstruction project.

Wednesday, October 6, 2010 - Sidewalks Soon !

Good Wednesday morning and welcome back to Dawson Road Today!

Construction crews were busy yesterday working on grading and preparing for the landscaping on the east side of Dawson Road across from our shop at 66 and down by the driveway at Rona Cashway at 55 Dawson Road. These pictures show where they were in-filling and leveling in preparation for curb and sidewalk installation. The weather yesterday was cool, cloudy and threatened rain; but the crew were able to get a full day in. Last night however, was a miserable night on site with continued cold and light steady rain.  We'll have to see how that affects work on the site today.

Find out more information about the upcoming Menu Tasting Buffet at the QB2 restaurant at 86 Dawson Road, by clicking onto the second page of this post. (click the header at the top of this page titled QB2 Menu Tasting Buffet October 15).  Linda asked me to remind you to left click twice on the menu to enlarge it to its biggest size for easier reading.

Guelph Remastered issued an advisory Tuesday regarding an upcoming construction open house to be held Wednesday, October 13th at City Hall to provide you with information about the Inter-modal Transit Terminal:

This is another important construction project that will effect many in the City.  This will be a good chance to find out what is going on and get your questions answered.

When you come onto Dawson Road Today, you will find the road surface in good shape. For the moment, construction activity has settled down, making it easy to get around Dawson Road and do your business.  Review the business directory in the right side bar and make plans to stop in and visit each of these businesses. Have a great day and sunnier days are ahead.
