W E L C O M E - We're here to help you and us !

Our City and tax dollars are re-constructing Dawson Road and we are expecting great things! On the surface - new sidewalks, bike lanes, better roadways and even trees. Down below - all kinds of new pipes, electrical connections and stuff that will make things work more efficiently.

The work is scheduled to be done by September 30, 2010. Until then there will be lots of heavy equipment moving around. The City will keep all businesses accessible. Check out this blog regularly for helpful updates on road conditions and how to get into tight areas or call us at 519-767-2161 for up-to-the-minute conditions. Dawson Road businesses need your business, to ensure we're still here to celebrate the benefits of this reconstruction project.

May 25, 2010 - After the Long Weekend

Things are quieter on the construction work on Dawson Road than I had expected.  The crews are working on the sewer pipe installation in front of Roy-Al Rentals.  From there down to Willow Road is very quiet.
The City is conducting regular garbage pickup, which is good to see.  Because of the Monday, Victoria Day holiday, our garbage pickup was this morning and it seems to have gone well.
Guelph Transit is running a modified bus route with buses traveling north from Willow to Dawson.  I'll have more details on that later.
The construction crews sprayed the road surfaces with water, I presume to keep the dust down.  So far - so good.
The sun is shining, the weather is hot, the reconstruction work is moving along in an orderly manner and the businesses of Dawson Road are open; so come on down!
Have a great day!
